Bomb blast at Thangal Bazar, 6 including 5 police personnel injured

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, November 5, 2019: Five police personnel including an Additional SP and one civilian were injured when a powerful bomb suspected to be an IED exploded today in Imphal. The incident happened near Sani Mandir at Thangal Bazar Khuyathong road on Tuesday at around 9:22 am. The injured were rushed to Raj Medicity for treatment.

Chief Minister N. Biren had visited the blast site and inspected the area.

The injured police personnel were identified as Imphal West Additional SP (Ops) Lamabam Amarjit, Thongam Devan of Lalambung, SI, CDO Imphal West Bazar Unit, Ningthoujam Ibotomba Singh of Thoubal Okram, ASI, City PS, Khuraijam  Boney of Singjamei Chingamathak, ASI, CDO IW & Huirongbam Boboy of Thoubal Ningombam, Rifleman and escort of Addl. SP Ops. IW. The injured civilian was identified as Krishna Gurung of Pangei Nepali Basti.
