Biren happy over announcement for extension of ILP in Manipur
Pothashang News Service: Imphal, December 9, 2019: Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh expressed his happiness over the announcement by the Union home minister to extend the Inner Line Permit System in Manipur on Monday.
Biren, on behalf of the people of Manipur, expressed his sincere gratitude to the Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and former Union home minister Rajnath Singh for keeping their commitment and promises.
He also paid tribute to the late Sapam Robinhood who sacrificed his life for the implementation of Inner Line Permit system in Manipur.
Biren said stated Amit Shah categorically announced in the Lok Sabha that the Inner Line Permit system would be extended in Manipur so as to protect the indigenous people of the state. He gave the credit of such outcome to the people, civil society organisations and media fraternity of the state.
Biren also announced that all government offices and educational institutions will be holiday on Tuesday on this historic occasion.
