NAB raids Brown Sugar lab

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, January 9, 2020: Narcotics and Affairs of Border (NAB) on Wednesday conducted a drug raid at suspected clandestine Brown Sugar laboratory at hill range, east of Phaijang village near Saikul, Kangpokpi district.

It was at 9:30 pm a team of NAB police  led by ASP/NAB Saklemba RK conducted the raid. During the raid about 461.83 kg of suspected brown sugar (remnants of processed opium), 136 litres of suspected liquid opium (morphinated solution), 100 kg lime, 17  bottles of one kg Ammonium chloride,  two iron pressing machine, one gas frame with one cylinder, four rubber hand gloves, one weighing scale and other incriminating articles were seized from the spot.

The clandestine laboratory was found located at about 400 m up on the slope of the Phaijang hill, deep in the jungle. The suspected persons engaged in the illegal act had fled when the team arrived at the spot taking advantage of the hilly reinote location.

A case has been register at NAB police station for further investigation.
