Police officer suspended for ‘misbehaving’

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, January 14, 2020: An assistant sub-inspecter (ASI) posted in Kangpokpi reserve line has been suspended for ‘misbehaving’ with Senapati trucks driver association while on duty on Tuesday morning.

The junior police officer was suspended on the same day after conducting an enquiry based on the video which went viral in social media, in which a police personnel was seen misbehaving with civilians.

The suspension order issued by superintendent of police (Kangpokpi) P.H. Maheshnarain said the behavior of the ASI Th. Hitler was quite unbecoming of a member of a disciplined force like Manipur Police.

Hitler has been placed under suspension, with immediate effect until further order, in exercise of power under rule 56 of Assam Police Manual Part-ll.

During the period of his suspenson his head quarter wil be reserve line at DHQ, Kengpokpi and also he should put his signature on the attendance register maintaired at RL/Kangpokpi DHQ. He shall not leave the headquarter without permission from the police superintendent. He wil get his subsistence allowances as admissible under rule during the period under which he is placed unde suspension. If he is absent he will not get his subsistence allowances for the period of his absence.
