AR recovers contraband drugs

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, January 17, 2020: Troops of Assam Rifles under the aegis of HQ IGAR (South) seized contraband items worth Rs 1.97 crores  at Khudengthabi Check Post in Tengnoupal District on Wednesday.

The troops on duty, stopped a suspicious white coloured Maruti Suzuki Gypsy bearing registration number MN-05A- 7530 driven by Mr. Suantak Letminlen Vaiphei, 28, resident of Moreh along with a passenger M.Thenmang Haokip age, 23 of Moreh. On carrying out a thorough check of the vehicle, white powder of Heroin weighing approximately 394 gm worth Rs 1,97,00,000 in the international market  was recovered, Assam Rifles said.

The apprehended individuals along with the recovered contraband item have been handed over to Moreh police station for further investigation.
