Security beefed up in Imphal

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, January 20, 2020: Security has been beefed up in Imphal as a part of security measures taken up ahead of the Republic Day celebration.

Imphal West Police conducted cordon and search operation was conducted at Singjamei Oinam Thingel on Monday.

Superintendent of police K. Meghachandra Singh led the police team in the operation.

In the operation, altogether 241 persons (157 males and 84 females) including 84 including theee UG bail-outs and 11 tenants were verified.

After spot verification the three bail outs and four tenants, were picked up at Singjamei police station. Later they were released after proper verification.

A police team of Imphal West also conducted verification of the occupants at seven Hotels in Paona Bazar area. No one was picked up during the verification.
