MP Ranjan launches adventure camp

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, February 2:  Member of Parliament Dr. RK Ranjan Singh on Sunday launched a 7-day day adventure camp with a sports material distribution ceremony at Kiyamba Shanglen in Bishnupur district.

Thirty youths will participate in the adventure camp organised by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan (NYKS), Bishnupur. Sports materials were distributed to 109 youth organisations.

Encouraging the youths of the present generation to broaden their outlooks, Ranjan urged the people to contribute their positive abilities to the society and nation building. Stating that the role of youth was very crucial, he encouraged the participants of the camp to learn how to struggle for existence, self-confidence and learn to live in one spirit.

He also announced to establish one Youth Resource Centre in NYKS campus and asked NYKS Bishnupur to submit proposal at the earliest. Focus of the centre will be knowledge cum skill development resource centre.

Highlighting the achievements of NYKS in the district Dr. Dhana Salam, DYC, Bishnupur highlighted the need for establishing skill development training center in the district.

President of Manipur Mountaineering and Trekking Association Bijoy Kakchingtabam and NYKS state director Jackie Ruivah were also present.
