Nine more HSLC exam candidates expelled

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, February 25, 2020: Nine more Manipur HSLC examination candidates were expelled on the third day of the examination after 20 candidates were expelled on the second day of the examination.

Of the nine candidates expelled seven of them were expelled for impersonation at two exam centres — Lilong Higher Secondary School, Lilong and Songpao Lhinghat Memorial High School, Sapermeina. The candidates belonged to South Point School of Sciences, Lilong Chajing, Morning Star English School, Sapermeina, Motbung High School, Motbung, Ponlien High School, Kangchup and Saitu High School, Motbung.

Two of them were expelled for copying. One was expelled from Kumari High School, Hiyangthang, who was a student of St. Stephen English School, Hiyangthang, and the other was expelled from Songpao Lhinghat Memorial High School, Sapermeina, a candidate of Ponlien High School, Kangchup.  The later possessed a mobile phone.

FIR will be initiated against those candidates expelled for impersonation, said state board secretary Dr. Chithung Mary Thomas.
