Tribute to Major Bob Kathing

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, February 29, 2020: The 108th Birth Anniversary celebrations of Major Bob Khathing was culminated at the Mantripukhri residence of the legend on Friday.

Lieutenant General Sukhdeep Sangwan, AVSM, SM**, DG AR, major general K P Singh, AVSM, YSM, IG AR (South), lieutenant general K H Singh (Retd) former chairman MPSC, Lieutenant General Shokin Chauhan (Retd) chairman CFMG and lieutenant general L N Singh (Retd) chairman MPSC laid wreath at his memorial.

This year’s wreath laying ceremony saw large attendance including senior Assam Rifle officials, immediate family members Mr and Mrs John Khathing and many dignitaries from Imphal and Ukhrul, Assam Rifles said in a statement released on Friday.

Padmashree Maj Ralengnao Khathing MC, MBE is popularly known for his endless acts of selfless service to his clan, region, and country performed by him in the course of his lifetime.

A Coffee Table Book “The Life of the Unsung Hero Maj Ralengnao ‘Bob’ Khathing” written by John SR Khathing, IRS (Retd) was released by Lt Gen Sukhdeep Sangwan, DG AR, in a solemn ceremony held at his memorial at Valley View Mantripukhri, Imphal on the occasion. This book provides an insight into the life of Maj Ralengnao Khathing and is expected to serve as an inspiration for all readers.

Maj Bob Khathing life was a perfect and orchestrated display of selfless service, integrity, willpower, perseverance and determination which saw him deliver the goods in diverse fields be it soldering, administration or diplomacy, the statement said.
