AR personnel injured in gun attack

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 21, 2020: One Assam Rifles personnel was injured in a gun attack by suspected NSCN (I-M) cadres at Salom Village under Tousem Police station in Tamenglong district on Saturday morning.

The injured personnel has been identified as Pankajkumar of 44-Assam Rifles. He sustained injury at his shoulder and hand.

According to sources, the suspected NSCN (I-M) cadres coming in a four wheeler jeep attacked the Assam Rifles personnel while they were on foot petrol.

The Assam Rifles personnel retaliated to the attack, however, no report of any injury to the NSCN (I-M) cadres side has been received so far till the filing of this report.

The injured Assam Rifles personnel have been admitted at Military Hospital at Leimakhong for treatment of the injury, a source said.
