Hawkers decide to suspend newspaper supply during lock down

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 24, 2020: In wake of Covid-19 outbreak Manipur Hawkers’ Association has on Tuesday declared to suspend newspaper distribution from Wedensday during total lock down in the state.

Manipur government on Tuesday announced total lock down till March end.

The association also condemned police allegedly for ill-treating hawkers during the lock down which does not cover newspaper distribution.

The distributor of Moirang side was beaten up on Wednesday allegedly by the officer-in-charge of Moirang Police disregarding the identity of the distributer, said in a statement released by the association on Wednesday.

Strongly condemning the incident the association drew the attention of the state authority to take up necessary action in connection with the incident.
