Manipur government allows meat sale during curfew market hours 

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 27, 2020: Manipur government has allowed meat and fish sale during the period when the grocery and other essential items shops of schedule areas are allowed to open during lockdown.

“It has been decided that shops or establishments dealing with dairy and milk booths, meat and fish shops, animal fodder/feed located in the area will be allowed to open and function during the period when the grocery and other essential items shops of the area are allowed to open,” an official notification said on Friday.

The guidelines for lockdown regarding closure of commercial and private establishment issued by the Government of India includes dairy and milk booths, meat and fish shops, animal fodder/feed shops in the category of exceptions. However, these establishments have not been made functional due to want of a standard operating procedure, it added.

The state home department has requested state machineries to include the above information during the publicity for shop opening.
