Indo-Myanmar borders within Churachandpur sealed

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, April 1, 2020: Stepping up its efforts to fight Covid-19 menace, the Churachandpur District Administration has on Wednesday sealed International boundary with Myanmar at three different locations within the district.

According to deputy commissioner, Churachandpur, PawanYadav, all approachable roads along the border in the district such as border pillar number 36/37 at Suangdai village, border pillar number 42 at Behiang village and border pillar number

41at Suangphuh village, all of which are motorable, have been sealed. The remaining stretch of the border is in accessible due to terrain.

The border points have been sealed with the help of the District Police and Assam Rifles under the supervision of SDO Singngat and SDO Suangdoh, the DC said.

The chief executive officer of ADC Lalthazam convened ameeting of all major traders of the district yesterday. During th emeeting,th etraders were informed of the distribution mechanism devised by district administration and were instructed to adhere to it strictly.The traders were also asked to inform the administration of any problems they face.
