Serial blasts greet Republic Day

Two powerful IED blasts at separate places in Imphal have greeted the 68th Republic Day while its celebration was in full swing.
The two explosive devices said to be IED exploded between a 15 minutes gap. The first one exploded at 8:15 at Singjamei Nambul Mapal Hao ground near Manipur College and the 6 AR. The second blast took place at 8:30 at Mantripukhri near 69 BN CRPF.

Both the bombs though shook the locality didn’t hurt anyone.

So far till the filing of the report no one has claimed responsible of the blasts.

United Liberation Front of Assam (Paresh Baruah faction), Coordination Committee (CorCom), which is a conglomerate of some Manipuri insurgent groups, and other underground groups had appealed to people to boycott the celebrations by staying at home to ensure a total shutdown.

Suspected militants of the United Liberation Front of Assam triggered four blasts within a span of 45 minutes at Charaideo and Dibrugarh districts of Assam said a report. There was no casualty in the explosions as triggered in isolated places.
