Ruler chief and Rights Crusader file nomination

Chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh and rights crusader Irom Chanu Sharmila today filed their nomination to contest at Thoubal assembly constituency for the ensuing 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly election 2017.

Talking to reporters Okram Ibobi Singh said congress will get 2/3 majority in the election and he was confident to continue his Congress government.

Replying question on the allegation by BJP, that congress had insisted Sharmila to say BJP had offer Rs 36 core to fight for the election, Ibobi said BJP has been making baseless allegation. “Let them continue their propaganda and we don’t need reply against that” added Ibobi Singh.

Sharmila had earlier made clarification naming one Sur Binod of BJP who proposed her to offer the sum which she denied. The clarification was after BJP cautioned her to pin point the person who had offered the huge amount saying BJP would take legal action if she fails.

Sharmila is contesting on PRJA ticket in two seat including Khurai assembly constituency.
And she says PRJA is against buying the rights of electorates to buy vote.

After 16 years of fasting on demanding to repeal AFSPA Sharmila switched to politics to further fight for human rights.
