Congress is confident to get 40 seats and form another five years stable government with the calculation of winning 24 seats out of the 38 constituencies for which the election polling were held on Saturday.

Talking to the reporters at Congress Bhavan here the president of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, T.N Haokip said the congress will win 16 seats out of 22 assembly constituencies for which the election would be held on Wednesday as the second phase of the 11th Manipur Legislative Elections. “We will get 40 seats altogether and continue another five years of stable Congress government”, added the Manipur PCC president.

Thanking the people who voted for Congress in the first phase of the election, Haokip said the promise made by Congress will not be let go in vain. He appealed the people of the remaining constituencies to come out to vote and stand against those who are trying to break the integrity of Manipur.

Haokip said, we campaigned to get 42 seats in the last election, but as there is extreme political climate we hope to get 40 seats this time.

Haokip said BJP and UNC are two faces of the same coin and people are well aware of who are behind the over four months long blockade and people will teach the one sided party a befitting lesson this time.

BJP is translating the dreams of RSS while NPF translating the dreams of UNC and NSCN-IM to disintegrate Manipur. Both BJP and NPF are making alliance, he said.
