Governor’s Cup Invitation Polo Tournament

Manipur Police Sports Club(B) moves into the semi final beating Khurai Polo Club by 2-1 goals in the 27th Governor’s Cup Invitation Polo Tournament 2017 played at Mapal Kangjeibung.

The last year runners up team Khurai Polo Club looked positive as they came up with the opening goal from T.Roshan in the first chukker for the lead. Seeking the equaliser, Manipur Police team rush things up but were unlucky to miss the oppurrunity in the second and third chukker.

However in the fourth chukker, things open up for Manipur Police team as they bring up the equalising goal from Th.Kaoba to level 1-1 goals. Later P.Jotin proved to be trumpcard for the Manipur Police as he slammed home the winning goal, enroute to the semi final.

In another match, Manipur Police Sports Club(C) got the better of defending champion Manipur Police Sports Club(A) by 5-4 goals to sail into the semi final.

Manipur Police(C) took to immediate task with Th.Romen and S.Abungcha scoring a goal each to dictate term in the game. However Manipur Police(A) surge up their gallops in the second chukker with H.Abung Khuman striking home his team first goal.

But Manipur Police(C) moves swiftly to domiate the proceddings when S.Viking and Th.Romen struck a goal each to post 4-1 goals in the second chukker.

With its pride at stake, Manipur Police(A) tighten theirs reign with S.Bimol, H.Abung Khuman and M.Jawan finding their touch to slammed home a goal each to level the scoreline to 4-4 goals in the third chukker. However in the fourth chukker, Manipur Police(C) team proved theirs mettle as they ran off with the all important goal from Th.Romen for the victory.
