State Open Football Tournament


Manipur Terriers FC Leimakhong thrashed SYC Sagang by 7-6 goals during sudden death after both team were locked with 2-2 goal in the 7th Shaheed Manoranjan Singh Memorial State Open Football Tournament 2017 played at Khuman Lampak Main Stadium.

SYC Sagang had a great opening in the match with Emanuel getting the opening goal in the 11 minute and Thangboi bring up the second goal in 30 minute to dominate the game. However just before the first half whistle, RN Ngatangmi reduced the margin of Manipur Terriers in the 45 plus 2 minute to trail by 1-2 goals.

Eleven minute into the second half, Manipur Terriers fetch the equalising goal from L.Ibotomba Singh to hold on 2-2 goal till the final whistle, resulting to the spot from the penalty kick. For Manipur Terriers team, A.Chitaranjan, H.Arunkumar Singh, Pauthianmei Vaiphei, L.Ibotomba Singh and K.Lungkoiba Maram beats the keeper while for SYC team, Ngampu, Jony, Mek and Justin scored the goal but not enough to save the match.
