Police has today apprehended the president of United Kuki Liberation Army (UKLA) Thangkhosei Guite along with two of its members from at Serena Hotel, Senapati.
A combined team of District Police Senapati and Kangpokpi led by Heisnam Balaram Singh, superintendent of police, Kangpokpi conducted a search operation and arrested Thangkhosei Guite @ James @Seiboy @ Max (33) s/o Lamthang Guite of Bunglung village PO & PS Saikul, Kangpokpi, Seigoulen Doungel @ Gogou @ Kenny Gou (31) s/o Lammang Doungel of Puleijang Village , Saikul and Lenkhomang Kipgen @ Mamang (29) S/o Thangkholun Kipgen of Keithelmanbi ward no.6, Kangpokpi. Incriminating articles were seized from their possession.
The Police Department had announced a cash reward of Rs. 1 lakh for arrest of Thangkhosei Guite and another member of the outfit vide press release dated 30/01/2017. This group has been carrying out many prejudicial activities in Senapati and Kangpokpi District. They were also planning to kidnap a number of contractors/businessmen in future for demanding huge ransom.
DGP L.M. Khaute briefing the media at his chamber said the police have been facing difficult times during the election and handling the prolonged blockade issue. We have conducted meeting to promote police activity to safeguard the people and prevent them from various threats, said Khaute.
Police activity has now gear up with the arrest of many who are said to have been acting against the law.
On Wednesday at 9.30 pm, a team of District Police Thoubal including woman police conducted frisking and checking at Wangjing Bazar and Heirok crossing and apprehended one drug peddler, Heijalam Haokip (42) W/o Paoshei Haokip of Nungtak Village and seized two kilograms of Opium from her possession.
In another police move yesterday at 9.3 0 am a team of District Police Commando, Imphal West rushed at Langol Game Village area and conducted frisking and checking and arrested one active cadre of ZUF identified as Johnson Kameih (33 S/o Achui Kameih of Namkaolong Part —II* Khoupum Valley, Nungba Disrict A/P Langol Game Village, Quarter no. 34 D, Zone -HI. Investigation revealed that he was involved in extortion of money from different transporters and Govt, Offices. Incriminating articles were also seized from his possession.
And today at 4 pm a team of Narcotics and affairs of Border conducted search operation at Sangakpham Bazar and a huge racket of forgery was disclosed. The Tech Savvy team led by Khoibam Joychandra @ Sur Singh (39) S/o Kh. Chaoba Singh of Laipham Khunou Maning Leikai was involved in issuing fake documents such as driving license, PAN card, Smart Card etc. in the name of M/S Sur Photo Studio located at Sangakpham Bazar.
In another police action, today at around CDO/IW has apprehened one person namely Ningthoujam Ojit Singh (40) S/O ( L) N.Joykumar Singh of Tera Sapam Leirak, a member of KRA-U from Tera Lukram Leirak who was involved in the Kidnapping of the brickfield owner Soibam Dhanabir Singh(70) of Tera Lukram Leirak for a ransom of Rs 2 Crores.
