Cyclone Thangmeiband swings into the final with 60 runs victory over Model Club(A) Chingamakha in the 14th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2016-17 played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.

In the first semi final, Cyclone Thangmeiband winning the toss decided to bat first and put up 133 runs for 7 wicket from 30 overs with Binoy Singh top scoring with 28 runs. Roben Singh contributed with 21 runs while Thoithoi got 17 runs and Robindro Singh fetch 14 runs.

Cherish was the pick among the Model Club bowler picking up a hattrick for 13 runs from 6 over while Suresh, Homeshwor, Shamu and Mujibur chip in with a wicket each.

In reply, Model Club batsmans were dismissed cheaply for a paltry 73 runs for 10 wicket from 25.1 over. Suresh Singh withstood with 24 runs but ran out of partner at the other end. Dr.Sunil Singh got 12 runs while Sunil chip in with 8 runs.

Cyclone bowler Binoy Singh and Robindro Singh created havoc as they claimed a hattrick each while Tiken Singh got 2 wicket and Bikom and Arun fetch a wicket each. Binoy Singh grabbed the man of the match award for his 28 runs and 3 wicket haul.

In the second semi final to be played tomorrow, Model Club(B) will take on Youth Welfare Club, Langthabal.
