Youth Welfare Club, Langthabal posted 8 wicket victory over Model Club(B) in the 14th Manipur Veteran Cricket Tournament 2017 played at Luwangpokpa Cricket Stadium.
Model Club after winning the toss opted to bat first where they put up a meagre total of 76 runs for 9 wicket from 30 overs with Naresh Singh resisting the Youth Welfare bowler with an unbeaten 14 runs. Roney with 13 runs and Gourachandra with 10 runs were the other run getter.
Youth Welfare Club bowler Sashikanta bagged 4 wickets while Brojen got 2 wicket, Samanda and Kumarjit fetch 1 wicket each.
In reply, Youth Welfare batsman reached the target easily in 23 overs losing two wickets with Sashikanta hammering an unbeaten 33 runs while Kumar too remain not out with 23 runs for the victory. Model bowler Roney claimed two wickets while Youth Welfare player Sashikanta was declared the man of the match for his 33 runs and 4 wicket haul.
