The Court of Judicial Magistrate Imphal East has remanded Khunaijam Inaocha @ Zenith, Khunaijam (O) Mema Devi and Khunaijam (O) Ashalata Devi on the charge of murdering Lunglailiu Rongmei (20) of Chingmeirong.
Kh. Inaocha is the husband of the deceased while Khunaijam (O) Mema Devi is his mother and Khunaijam (O) Ashalata Devi his sister-in-law.
The three accused were produced at the court today. In the court’s statement three of them were arrested on suspicion and they were subjected to police custody for seven days. Zenith has confessed the police that he had committed the crime. As the other two were also highly suspected for involvement in collusion with Kh. Inaocha the court remanded the three accused in judicial custody till May 26.
Lunglailiu was found murdered lying in the bed with her throat slit with a knife on May 5.
Inaocha, his mother and sister-in-law had already surrendered to Lamphel Police Station the same day.
The accused will be produced on May 26.
