L.Rojit Singh representing Imphal West boxed his way to victory in the State Level Boxing Championship 2017 which got underway at Khuman Lampak Boxing Ring.
Rojit Singh competing in the Sub-Junior Men’s 44-46kg category beat Majagangpu Kamei of Tengnoupal by judges split decision of 4-1 point. In another bout of the same weight category, Thoithoiba Longjam of Kakching outshines L.Shyamson Meitei of Churchandpur by unanimous decision.
As for the Sub-Junior Men’s 42-44kg bout, Sh.Rahul Singh of Bishnupur thrashed R.Bisho Koireng of Ukhrul by a unanimous decision for the victory. Altogether 256 boxers including 93 women are taking part in the championship.
Manipur deputy chief minister Y.Joykumar Singh along with P.Doungel,IPS Additional DGP, Dr.Y.Yaima Singh Managing Director Horizon Hospital & Research Institute and Col.Sanjay Mothey, CO 165 Infantry Battalion(TA) graced the opening function.
