NEW GOVERNMENT NEEDS PEOPLE’S SUPPORT: CHIEF MINISTER

“The present government is just three months old and it seeks the support of the people to cater good for society and bring development in the State,” said Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh at the reception ceremony of newly elected Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Shri Ksh. Bhabananda Singh at Keishampat Thokchom Leikai yesterday. The reception ceremony was organised by Manipur People’s Club, Khwai Thokchom Leikai, Imphal.

Speaking as the Chief Guest of the function, Chief Minister said, “After a spin of elections in last 60 years, nothing has changed but this new government is committed to safeguard the right to life and dignity of the people of the State.” He further said that the new government does not pursue for any award or reward but is dedicated for the welfare of the people and to bring some change in the State.

Shri N. Biren Singh stressed that the government would bring an end to the excessive use of power by the armed forces in the State. Condemning the recent heinous crimes against women, he assured that a fast track court would be set up soon with due permission from the High Court of Manipur.

Stating that honesty and integrity is key to his success, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Shri Ksh. Bhabananda said that he would work with dedication for the betterment of the society.
