Bomb squad defuses 3 explosive devices

Police defused three intensive explosive devices, which were found near the gate of Manipur diesels at Mantripukhri in imphal East this morning.

The explosive devices were found fixed in two tiffin carriers –two of them in one tiffin carrier and the third in another tiffin carrier.

The devices were defused at around 9: 10 am. The bomb squad found 4 detonators, 12 TNT cakes, two RDX slabs and three circuit wires.

If it would have exploded there would have been huge damage, says police.

People of the locality thanked the police for their endeavour in safeguarding the life of the people.

It was uncertain who and why the bombs were planted.
