People celebrates Ratha Yatra

Like every year Rath Yatra was widely celebrated in the state with its main event held at Palace Compound, Imphal where people offered fruits and flowers chanting holistic and devotional rituals.

The religious festival of the Hindu followers, popular in Manipur as Kaang Chingba was also witnessed at airport road organised by the ISKON with devotees chanting the glory of Lord Krishna and Jaganath.

Chief minister Biren Singh and the titular king Leishemba Sanajaoba took part in the celebration at Shri Shri Govindaji temple at Palace compound.

Biren Singh said, “I pray for peace and end to violence and protect people from calamities like flood.” He also appealed the people to pray for peace and unity in the state.

The festival was also celebrated at various localities in the Imphal valley with pomp and grandeur.
