Landslides cut off National Highway 37

Two landslides along the national highway 37 at Sinam village in Tamenglong district has cut off vehicular movements.
Hundreds of loaded and unloaded goods and petroleum ferrier trucks remained straned on either side of the of the damaged road. There is no way for passenger vehicles to pass the damaged portion.Half of the road was bisected by the landslide.
Incessant rainfall has resulted the landslides. District officials say as the torrential rain continues in Manipur and other parts of North East states there may occur other resultant landslides along the national highways.
The border road task force has started trying to clear the debris. However it is expected that it would consume more time in paving the way to bring about transportable for heavy vehicles.
