Nabakishore denies fund misappropriation charges

Former Chief Secretary Oinam Nabakishore denied the local TV news report for misappropriation Manipur Development Society fund when he was its chairman.

Nabakishore also said the goverment has accepted his proposal to take voluntary retirement as an IAS officer while he addressed the media today.

He said he took over as the chief secretary on October 1, 2015 and appointed as the chairman of MDS. Saying that his duty was to countersign cheques, Nabakishore said there were already discrepancies in the MDS balance sheet when he took over as the chairman.

He said the news report aired on a local TV channel that he was removed from the chief secretary for misappropriation of MDS fund, was false.

The approval letter for his voluntary retirement was handed personally to Nabkishore. The cceptance is an ample verification of his innocenec in his service, said Nabkishore saying that voluntary retirement cannot be accepted if any serviceman is involved in malpractices during his service period.

People of Ningthoukhong has been agitating against the removal of Nabakishore from the post of chief secretary.

Former chief secretary Oinam Nabakishore  served his notice to retire voluntarily from the Indian administrative service on Friday, just a day after Rajni Ranjan Rasmi replaced him as chief secretary of Manipur.

Nabakishore decided to retire voluntarily from his service on October 9 on personal ground from the present post of director general, state academy of training.
