The Minister was accompanied by Agriculture Director Dr. Ph. Rajendro Singh on his visit to the site. He said that efforts are being taken up to grow hybrid rice in selected areas of Imphal East & West, Thoubal district etc. as the Government will not be able to cover the whole of Manipur because of the prevailing situation. The productivity of the cultivation of the hybrid seed, although a notified variety, is not predictable as the cultivation will be for the first time.
