Another tragedy worsens supply line

While landslides in Nagaland along the National highway-2 connecting Imphal has been troubling the supply of essential commodities into the state, the Barak bridge connecting Imphal and Jiribam became unsupportable for heavy vehicles.

One panel bar of the Barak bridge was separated when a chicken feeds carrier 10 wheeled truck was crossing over the bridge at around 6:00 am, today.

However, there were no any untoward incident to bring about causality.

Loaded heavy vehicles of around 200 were starting their journey towards Imphal, but remained stranded as they have no means to cross. Light passenger vehicles were guided to cross the old bridge.

Massive landslide at Vishema in Nagaland that took place on Saturday had been disconnecting Imphal and Nagaland.
