Sub-Junior Boys National Football Championship 2017

Imphal, Aug 30: Mizoram thrashed Arunachal Pradesh by 4-1 goals in the opening match of the Sub-Junior Boys National Football Championship 2017 for North East Zone Qualifying Round held at Artificial Turf, Khuman Lampak.
Though the match was schedule to kick start from 2.45pm, lack of proper medical aids delayed the match till 3.30pm. The match schedule(fixture) is yet to be circulated to the media.
Sports Minister Letpao Hoakip inaugurated the championship and left the stadium soon after the customary introducation to the players.
Mizoram dominated the match right from the word go and it was Lai Nunzira who scored the opening goal and added another goal while Lalrinliana Hnamte and Lalruat Mawia fetch a goal each. The lone goal for Arunachal Pradesh was scored by Kojam Beyong. In tomorrow match, Meghalaya will take on Tripura.
The six teams in the championship are Assam,Tripura, Meghalaya, Arunahal Pradesh, Mizoram and Manipur.

League

SDC Samurou beat KSYC Hiyangthang by 2-1 goals in the 1st Sh.Mani Sharma Memorial Third Division Football Tournament 2017 played at Loitang Khunou, Imphal West. H.Rakesh and N.Romen scored a goal each fSDC Samurou while the lone goal for KSYC was fetch by Tennyson. KSYC player Albert got a yellow card in the match.
In another match, TDC Mayanglangjing thrashed SYPA Awang Sekmai by 2-0 goal. Deepak Oinam and T.Lamnganba chip in with the winning goal for Mayanglangjing. TDC player N.Rabi and Y.Malemngnaba got a yellow card in the match.
