SHYAMKUMAR PARTICIPATES IN ‘SWACHHTA HI SEWA’ CAMPAIGN

IMPHAL, SEPTEMBER 17, 2017 (DIPR): ‘Swachhta Hi Sewa’, a cleanliness campaign was organised by Directorate of Environment at Changangei, Ucheckon, Imphal West today.

Forests and Environment Minister Shri Thounaojam Shyamkumar, speaking as the Chief Guest of the function, said ensuring cleanliness will be a true tribute to the Mahatma Gandhi as the nationwide campaign is concluding on Gandhi Jayanti. He said the Directorate of Environment conducted the campaign to create mass awareness of the environmental cleanliness.

Minister Th. Shyamkumar, officials of Directorate of Environment, club members and local residents cleaned the surrounding areas during the drive.

The fortnight long campaign, launched nationwide on September 15, 2017, will highlight the Central Government’s flagship cleanliness initiative Swachh Bharat Mission.
