Differently abled persons meet cancer patients

Imphal, September 22: All Manipur Handicapped Persons’ Welfare Association today offered sweets and snacks to the cancer patients at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal in observance of National Rose Day.

Tongbram Romeo Singh, president of the handicapped persons association said, “We observe National Rose Day with the motive to give hope to the cancer patients at RIMS every year since 2010.”

We take them as disabled persons like us. We come here every year here to wish them to overcome the disease and the family at home with smiles, said Romeo.

Saying it is unfortunate that there has not been any government programme here to help the cancer patients, Romeo appealed the government to take up special programmes for cancer patients.

The AMHPWA was established on November 21, 2009.
