25 smuggled urea bags seized

Imphal, October 1: Police seized 10 bags of smuggled Urea () yesterday from two van drivers who was illegally ferrying them towards Moreh at Pallel police station gate in Chandel district.

The smugglers were identified as R.K.  Meipaksana Singh (36) son of  (L) R.K. Khedasana Singh of Chongtham Kona Wangoi, Imphal West and Md. Ibo (41) son of Md. Babu Khan of Kshetri Awang Leikai, Imphal East.

Meipaksana was carrying 10 bags of urea in his Eco van that bearing registration number MN05A-4805. Babu Khan was ferrying 15 bags of urea in his van bearing registration number MN1A-8852.

The urea bags were seized yesterday morning at around 10:20 am during frisking and checking conducted by a team of Pallel Police in front of Pallel police station gate. The Urea bags were being smuggled to Myanmar as stated by the drivers of the Vans to the police.

The above drivers were also apprehended. They along with the seized items were handed over to OC Kakching  police yesterday for further necessary legal action.
