KARAM ATTENDS INTERNATIONAL CONFERENCE ON CONSUMER PROTECTION FOR EAST, SOUTH AND SOUTH-EAST COUNTRIES IN NEW DELHI

Imphal, October 26, 2017 (DIPR): Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution and Revenue Minister Karam Shyam attended the inaugural function of the International Conference on Consumer Protection for East, South and South-East Countries in New Delhi today.  Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the conference which is being held on the theme “Empowering Consumers in New Markets”.

Speaking to the Rajya Sabha Television (RSTV) on the sidelines of the conference, Minister Karam Shyam said that in Manipur consumer protection has been effectively implemented since the new government came to power in 2017.

The two-day long conference is being organised by the Department of Consumer Affairs, Government of India and the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development. CAF& PD and Revenue Minister Shri Karam Shyam, Director CAF&PD Yumnam Ranjan and other officials are representing the State.
