Next tripartite talk next year

Imphal, November 10: The Tripartite Talk among government of India, government of Manipur and United Naga Council which was today held at Senapati District Headquarters ended with no concrete resolution and fixed next round of talk after three months gap on February 23 next year.

The United Naga Council (UNC) raised objection to the delay in settling their demands to roll back the newly created districts in Naga inhabited areas. The state government replied that consultation with stake holders will be initiated and prepare concrete proposal on the demand of UNC by second week of February next year.

It was also agreed that the state government will issue advisory to the concerned authorities to ease out problems faced by the general public subsequent to creation of new districts.

The Government of Manipur was represented by    V. Hangkhanlian, Minister, Agriculture, Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, Manipur, N. Kayisii, Minister Tribals and Hill Area Development and Fisheries, Manipur and Thokchom Radheshyam Singh, Minister, Education and Labour and Employment, Manipur, J. Suresh Babu, additional chief secretary, government of Manipur and K. Radhakumar Singh, commissioner (Works), government of Manipur.

The UNC team was represented by Gaidon Kamei, president, UNC, S. Milan, general secretary, UNC, James Inka, general secretary, All Naga Student Association Manipur and Asha Wungnam, president, Naga Women’s Union

Government of India was represented by Satyendra Garg, join secretary (NE), MHA, government of India.

The last talk was held on October 6.
