ANAL NAGA BODIES SUBMIT MEMORANDUM TO PM FOLLOWING CHANDEL BLAST

Imphal, November 18: Anal civil organisations today staged a rally at Chandel district in protest against recent blast in Chandel that killed two AR jawans injuring six others.

Two AR Jawans and six others were injured when the People’s Liberation Army attacked a foot patrol of the Assam Rifles at Mahamani Village on November 13 morning by exploding a powerful IED.

The Anal Naga civil organsations submitted a memorandum copy to the Prime Minister through the Chandel deputy commissioner.

The Anal Naga Tangpi, Anal Students’ Union, Anal Women Union, Anal Lon Chiefs’ Association and Anal Christian Forum led a mass protest rally at Chandel. The demonstrators gathered at Mini Indoor Stadium and proceeds toward the office of deputy commissioner, Chandel crossing through Japhou Bazar.

The protestors displayed several placards denouncing the blast and also aised slogans, “We condemn bomb blast” “We want Peace”.

The memorandum stated that such unwanted incidence should be properly analysed as some politicians who are trying to breach the lndo-Naga Peace Talk. The said bomb blast occurred some days back right after the visit of chief minister of Manipur to Chandel, added the memorandum.

It made an apprehension that deployment of state forces in the district rather than the Assam Riffles will create unwanted consequences in the district. Involvement of state forces in frisking the public and operating in the villages of Chandel district creates lot of inconveniencies to the general public and even to the students.

The organizations sought intervention of the prime minister so that peace and harmony prevails in our district.
