Imphal, November 19: Dogs and cats were vaccinated during a “Free Anti-Rabbies Vaccination Programme held yesterday at Thangmeiband Khomdram Selungba Leikai organised by Thangmeiband United Club in collaboration with Yenning Animal Foundation and powered by Pedigree Pet Foundation.

Altogether 75 dogs and three cats were vaccinated. Besides free Rabbies vaccination, the pet animals were given medicines and other injection at discounted rate by the state veterinary department, to help protect them from diseases as well as to help them live healthy.

Pedegree foods were also served for free to the dogs. Five volunteers of Yenning Animal Foundation took part in the camp besides the club volunteers.

Three state veterinary department doctors were engaged in the service. “Similar free medical camps will be held continuously in different parts of the state so that pet animals remain free from diseases and at the same time to save lives of people from the harms of the pet animals” said one of the doctors at the pet medical camp.

The organisors will be given certificate of conduct on Monday.
