TARGET TO CONSTRUCT 9740 HOUSES BY THE END OF THIS FINANCIAL YEAR UNDER PMAY SCHEME: BISWAJIT

Imphal, December 21, 2017 (DIPR) : Replying to a question raised by MLA Shri K. Meghachandra Singh in the ongoing 3rd session of the 11th Manipur Legislative Assembly session today, RD & PR minister Shri Th. Bishwajit  said the government is targeting to construct  9740 houses under PMAY Scheme in the Gram Panchayat areas of the state particularly by the end of this financial year.  It is related  with Centre’s Housing for all Scheme. The selected district-wise number of beneficiaries are Bishnupur 347, Chandel 972, Churachandpur 1819, Imphal East 1332, Imphal West 423, Senapati 1536, Tamenglong 1068, Thoubal 1586 and Ukhrul 657.

Responding to a question raised by MLA Shri Kh. Joykishan during question hours, Deputy CM and also incharge of Finance Shri Y. Joykumar said that the packages announced by the Chief Minister for the Hill Districts of Ukhrul, Senapati, Kangpokpi, Chandel, Churachandpur and Tamenglong are at various stages of implementation. Projects which are completed or sanctioned or those for which funds have been provided or in the process of sanction. A total of 97 sanctioned orders have been issued.

Responding to another question raised by MLA Shri S. Bira Singh, RD & PR minister Shri Th. Biswajt Singh  informed the house  that  Sagang-Sugnu Road and Moirang Kumbi Road to Kumbi Thingel Leikai were  executed under PMGSY Phase IX & X in Kumbi Assembly Constituency by Contractor/Agency  namely, M/S N. Jilla Singh & Sons and N. Jegeshwar Singh. The amount spent on Sagang-Sugnu Road and Moirang Kumbi Road to Kumbi Thingel Leikai were Rs 165.10 lakh and Rs 36.91 lakh respectively. Whereas, the remaining balances are Rs 313.00 lakh and Rs 57.15 lakh, added the Minister. Target set for completion of the works is 31.07.2018 for Sangang-Sugnu Road and 31.03.2018 for Moirang Kumbi Road to Kumbi Thingel Leikai.

Chief Minister Shri  N. Biren Singh today laid on the table,  the Corrigendum No. 282/MR/2017(DEL) dated 1st November, 2017 of the Election Commission of India republished in the Manipur Gazette dated 6th November, 2017.

As part of today’s session,  viewing the sensitive of the calling attention put up by MLA Shri Kh. Joykishan Singh in pertain to Frame work Agreement between NSCN (IM ) and Government of India was converted to short duration discussion and participated by many  members of the house both from ruling and opposition. After discussion, the house unanimously resolved to ask…. to disclose what’s there in frame work agreement.

Chief Minister Shri N. Biren Singh while clarifying on the issue had informed the house that the Framework Agreement between the NSCN(IM) and Government of India has signed on August 31, 2015. However, the contents were not reveal to the public till date. His government would try it level best to make public the contents of the Framework agreement to the general public.

Meghachandra, Md. Abdul Nasir, Shri Th. Lokeshwor, Smt Ak. Mirabai, Dr. Chaltolian Amo participated in the discussion.
