Imphal, December 22, 2017: Police detained five suspects in an attack on a non-local worker in Imphal on Wednesday evening.
Unidentified men in arms shot at a plumber, Abhas Mallik, 36, who hails from Odisha. He was hit with three bullets, two at the back and one at the hand. He was admitted to Shija Hospital and Research Institute.
Giving information about the attack and detention of the five suspects in the state Assembly yesterday the chief minister Nongthombam Biren Singh told the house that an FIR had been registered and investigations were on.
Two persons came to the rented house of the victim located near Nityananda temple along the Regional Institute of Medical Sciences road here and fired at him in front of the house.
