‘DBT FOR OLD AGE PENSION WILL BE LAUNCH SHORTLY’

Kangpokpi, January 18, 2018(DIPR): Highlighting the various schemes and projects taken up under her departments, Social Welfare and Cooperation Minister Smt Nemcha Kipgen said that once 100 percent Aadhaar linking are completed for all the beneficiaries, the 17 months Old Age Pension will be given to the beneficiaries through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT). DBT will be launch by the team from the Centre. So, she sternly instructed the concerned officials of Social Welfare Department to complete the Aadhaar linking process at the earliest so as to deliver the pension amount without further delays and also appeal all the beneficiaries who have not still link their Aadhaar to get it done at the concerned offices of the department.

This was stated by the Minister on the occasion of the Silver Jubilee Celebration of the Kuki Students Organisation (KSO) Tuilang Block held at Gelnal Kimpao Ground, Kangpokpi District. As part of this celebration, General Conference cum Sports Meet 2018 was also held.

She further informed about the Chief Minister Gi Shottharaba Singgi Tenbang, a welfare schemes for differently-abled persons, poor and needy people. Nemcha said such schemes are meant for all so deserving people should avail it through application forms available in the department as well as in all the Districts offices. The forms can be submitted till 31st January, 2018.
Minister Nemcha also highlighted on how the socio-economic conditions of the people in the state can be improved through the effective and proper implementation of cooperative movement in the state.

Lauding the KSO for organizing such event, Nemcha appeal all the civil and students organizations to organize awareness programmes on various centrally and state sponsored schemes and projects as most of the people in the far flung areas are not much aware about all such benefits.

Addressing the gatherings as Chief Guest, Minister Nemcha states that education is the most important factor in everyone’s life and at the same time, sports is also very essential for overall development including mental and physical development. It is a well known fact that Manipur produces world class athletes and represents the country and has brought many laurels too. So, she urge the organizer to organize any kind of events with a vision and assured that she will extend all possible assistance in all possible way to develop our state further.
