DIFFERENCES AND ISSUES TO BE SOLVED THROUGH DIALOGUE & DISCUSSION: JAYANTAKUMAR

Imphal, January 24, 2018 (DIPR): Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri L. Jayantakumar Singh has expressed that Dialogue and Discussion will lead to understanding between one another. Speaking at a press conference held at his Office chamber in the presence of the representatives of the ASHA Workers Union and Mediapersons, minister said that the incident occurred on 21st of this month in which the ASHA workers burnt the uniforms issued to them is really unfortunate.

Regretting the incident of burning ASHA Uniforms on 21st January at Khuman Lampak, one of the ASHA representatives said that the incident was really unfortunate. It was an accident arises out of misunderstanding and miscommunication.

She also demanded unconditional release of the ASHA workers arrested on the day. Drawing the attention of the Chief Minister the ASHA Workers Union representatives conveyed that they would rather like to beg pardon for their mistakes on the Day.

Minister also appealed the ASHA volunteers not to opt violence when they are demanding something, rather they should forward the matter to the concerned in time, for knowledge and timely action. He also assured that the ASHA Workers arrested on the charge of damage of public property on the day when “Chief Ministergi Hakselgi Tengbang”, a welfare scheme of the poor, was launched.

Minister further informed that the pending demands of the ASHAs will be discussed with the Chief Minister and necessary action will be taken up.
