Daughter-in-law rapists shot dead

Imphal, January 31, 2018: Daughter-in-law rapists Thokchom Ratan, 46 was shot death by unknown armed persons at Samaram Lamkhai in Thoubal district.

Ratan, son of Jugeshore, resident of Charangpat was shot by two unknown armed persons while he was standing at the verandah of his steel furniture house at Samaram Lamkhai. The incident took place at around 2:30 pm yesterday.

He was shot with two bullets on his head.

Six years back, Ratan had allegedly raped his daughter-in-law at gun point at Hotel Apsara located at North AOC on September 14, 2012.

After the incident, Ratan went absconding. Following a complaint filed by his daughter-in-law he was arrested and put behind bars.

The dead body of Ratan was deposited at JNIMS morgue.
