PFA rescues wild animals

Imphal, February 1, 2018: Continuing its service for distressed animals, People for Animals Manipur had recently rescued various wild animals including a monkey from Thoubal Khangabok.

A large and weak Steppe Eagle was handed over by one Lairenlakpam Momojit Meitei and his friends of Yumnam khunou Awang Leikai. They found it flightless in the nearly paddy fields.
Renowned film actor N. Bhogendro  of Heirangkhoithong handed over a barn owl. Another barn owl was also handed over by Imphal Police Sation, I W which was found from Kangla Compound. Including these two about 7 barn owls were rescued from various places like Thoubal Wangkhem, Thoubal Khetrileikai. One Yengkhom Chaoba of Kakching Makha Leikai handed over a hoopoe bird.

The hoopoe was released the next day while the eagle which can’t perch and monkey were still in our shelter for observation and treatments. 6 of the young barn owl have died. All of them were brought cold, sick and weak, said a press statement released by L. Biswajit, managing trustee, PFA.
