Imphal, February 1, 2018: A team comprising of about 60 personnel led by DC/CCP, SP/ CCP, Add SP(LO),SDPO, SDC has destroyed opium plantation in 55 acres at 4 different locations (15,15,15,10) acres in remote hill ranges of Saikot sub-division between Thuijangphai and Benazou village. The team were engaged from 9 am till 4 pm.
In another move 10 acres of poppy worth about 50 lakhs destroyed at Lungthul (T) in Singhaat sub-division by a 2nd team of 70 personnel led by Add SP(ops)/ Churachandpur, SDPO ccpur, Singhat police and 2 AR.
A total of poppy planted on 65 acres that would worth Rs 3 crores 25 lakhs were destroyed.
