3 months certificate course on computer application under Boarder Area Development Programme concludes

Imphal, 14 February, 2018 (DIPR) : When you are connected with the best, there are unlimited opportunities. This was stated by Prof. Dr. N. Mohendro Singh, Eminent Economist as the Chief Guest in a Valedictory function of 3-months certificate course on Computer Application at Institute of Cooperative Management, Imphal, today.

Prof. Mohendro further said that Computer have become an integral part of modern life. Computers are used in almost every field and therefore, it has become necessary to learn about computers. Stating that participating in a Computer training course is a very good beginning, he said ordinary education is not enough as the world has become very competitive in 21st century.

Joint Director, Planning Department Km. N. Kulkarani Devi who graced the function as Guest of honour said that the training programme has been organized under skill development of Youth under Border Area Development Programme. She said that the trainees coming from border areas have the opportunity to share the bond of love while staying at the ICM. Those who did not get selection this time will have another opportunity in several trades  as BADP is a continual process.

In her keynote address, Director of ICM, Dr. N. Ranjana Devi said that  39 students from various villages of border areas of Chandel and Tengnoupal District took part in the 3-months certificate course on Computer Application. During the training, all the trainees were provided free boarding and lodging, reading materials among others. Besides, they are imparted training on skill development like plumber and aluminum works. They are also taught to utilize their skills in a productive manner.

As part of the function, selected participants shared their experiences of their training period at the ICM. They lauded the faculty members and Principal for their good gesture towards the students during the past 3 months.

President, Manipur State Cooperative Union, Shri L. Tompishak attended the function as President while Board of Directors, Manipur State Cooperative Union also attended the Valedictory function as well.

The 3-months certificate course on Computer Application under Border Area Development Programme which began from November 14, 2017 was organized by Institute of Cooperative Management, Imphal and sponsored by Planning Department, Government of Manipur.
