Yaoshang celebrated differently

Pothashang News Service : Imphal, March 6, 2018: While people in the state are celebrating the 5-day Yaoshang festival involving rituals, sports, dance and music Sons of Kangleipak and Royal Photography Manipur celebrates the festival by mingling amid the children at Yaibilen children home, Keibi, Imphal East.

The organisers opened a free medical camp for the 14 children at the children home. The camp includes immunization, dental check up besides giving medical attention. Four of them were found infected with skin diseases. They were given treatment and offered medicines.

The organisors presented gift including blanket, sports suits and kits to the children. They also donated money for the children home.

“The children home is run by village volunteers without any state aid. We are organising this event so that we can share at least some help of our capacity with the children”, said an organiser.

The children along with the volunteers of the home and the organisers together enjoyed feasting. The children staged cultural and sports performance as a part of the celebration.
