Governor pays last respect to Naik Amar Sher Singh

Pothashang News Service : Imphal, March 7, 2018: Governor of Manipur Najma Heptulla today paid last respect to Naik Amar Sher Singh who was killed during a counter insurgency operation on Monday at Khoupum area in Manipur’s Noney district at the wreath laying ceremony to honour.
The governor appealed the people to lay down their arms and come forward to bring a peaceful and strong state. She said it is sorrowful to learn that a brave jawan who stayed awake at night so that we can sleep has lost his life. She stressed that we should respect and support our soldiers.
In honour of the late jawan, one minute silence was observed. The mortal remains of Late Naik Amar Sher Singh will be transported to his hometown Fazilka, Punjab for cremation.
The junior commission officer 13 Sikh light infantry Naik Amar Sher Singh is survived by his wife and one four year old daughter.
The wreath laying ceremony was also attended by high ranking officials.
