Security measures heightened at the border

Pothashang News Service: Imphal, March 12, 2018: Security measures have been tightened at the Indo-Myanmar border town Moreh especially around the integrated check-post which will be inaugurated by Union home minister Rajnath Singh on March 15 as a part of “Inaugural Fortnight” to mark the achievement of the Biren Singh led government.

The BJP-led coalition government completes one year on March 15. The government has been inaugurating projects in the fortnight inaugural series since the first day of March amid mockery for bluffing by Congress.

As a part of the security measure in connection with the proposed visit of Rajnath Singh, Moreh Police on Sunday conducted another combing operation at Premnagar ward no.4, Premnagar ward 5 and Muslim leikai at Moreh during 4 pm till 6 pm. Altogether identity of 80 persons were verified.

A security meeting was convened at Moreh Police guest house chaired by DC Tengnoupal and SP Tengnoupal in connection with the visit of the home minister.

The integrated check-post is located near border gate No. 2 of Moreh, about 109km from Imphal.

Police says cordon and search operations would be launched from time to time at Moreh in general and in places around the integrated check-post in particular.
