Imphal, March 14, 2018 (DIPR): The SDC Office Building of Lilong Chajing that is within the jurisdiction of District Administration, Imphal West District, was inaugurated today in the presence of Hon’ble Minister, (Revenue/CAF& PD), Shri Karam Shyam as the Chief Guest, Secretary (Revenue), Shri T Ranjit Singh as the President and Deputy Secretary (Revenue), Shri Y Rajen Singh ;Chairperson, Lilong Nagar Panchayat(Imphal West), Shri L Lalmani and Shri Ksh Lemba, ADM/ADC Imphal West ,as the Guests of Honour.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Minister Karam Shyam expressed that he is pleased that the SDC Office, Lilong Chajing that was under construction since 2005-6 and pending completion still after making repeated requests to the then Revenue Minister in 2012 when he was the MLA of the AC, was inaugurated today during his tenure as Revenue Minister.
The public of Manipur have regularly lodged several complaints in connection with revenue matters and I have tried to minimise these complaints to almost 90% after listening to their grievances, he said.
The Minister appealed to his Revenue staff to work with sincere dedication and not commit small mistakes in relation to irregularities regarding land matters that will in turn lead to a bigger problem and crisis in the human society in future.
“I want to streamline the Revenue Department of the State and change the mindset of its staff for the better. I am happy that my efforts have paid off upto a certain extent and I am getting positive response at the moment”, he assured.
Prior to and after implementation of Manipur Conservation of Paddy Land and Wetland Act, 2014, so many constructions and installations have taken place. We will also discuss the matter in consideration with the interest and welfare of the public, he also said. Looking at the pros and cons of the matter, appropriate action will be taken up in due course, he further said.
The Agriculture Department should also take initiative and give reports, he stated.
We have now reports and evidence of construction and establishment of varieties of club, library, meira shang etc. from Lilong to Shamurou spanning a total distance of about 5 km 365 m. The Government have given power to the concerned SDOs & SDCs to monitor and look into these activities, he also said.
Lets try to obey the Laws and Acts of the State and follow it leaving aside all personal motives and benefits in view of the bigger welfare of the society and humanity as a whole, the Minister appealed.
T Ranjit Singh also requested the public to give maximum co-operation to the Revenue officials for the smooth-functioning of the Department.
SDOs and SDCs of Imphal West District also took part in the inauguration ceremony.
